Nuevo Corazon: Delivering Meals with a Prayer

As we prayed over the meals on September 5th the Lord filled me with His joy and I (Stephen) was reminded once again what a blessing it is to serve the Lord by serving others. I worked along side several other volunteers for Nuevo Corazon  to prepare, package and deliver 35 meals to the mostly home-bound elderly around Galeana, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  One new man on our list got my attention. His home is a tiny one room shed where he sat in the only chair waiting for his meal. It was a cool and cloudy day, and he was so grateful to receive a good warm meal. I was reminded that regardless of our circumstances we always have hope in the Lord.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

Each week a group of volunteers cook, package and deliver the meals.

Sandra (right) plans the meals.

Some of the homes are little more than cardboard.

I prayed with Maria that the Lord would ease her pain as she was having a difficult day.
