Joy in the Desert x 3

Guest written by: Jeanette and Lori Lewis

An hour and a half drive down a bumpy, dusty, desert road brought us to the remote ranch named El Carmen (population 74).  The True Path Ministry crew and the Pastors of Iglesia Getsemani (and their families) were privileged to have the congregations of three desert churches come together for worship.  The ranches of El Carmen, La Esperanza, and El Barrosito were represented.  What does this mean?…Lots and lots of kids!

The children were overjoyed with their gift boxes, and we gave out 91 of them!  As you can see from the photos, there was a massive number of children in attendance and they enjoyed the children’s service led by Rosita who was our teacher today.

The adult church service was spirit-filled as Evangelist Ramiro spoke about the coming new year and how you can be a new person with Christ in your heart.  Afterwards, the women were able to take home their choice of donated clothing and blankets for their families.  It was only about 60°F (15.6° C) today in the warmest part of the day and the wind was blowing…so the blankets were very much appreciated.

The pastors of the three churches received the “Blessing Bags” that were mentioned in the Facebook post yesterday.  They appreciated them and said how much that helps their families.

All in all, it was a day for blessings…for the families in the desert and for Lori and I.  It fills our hearts to see the joy on the faces of the kids when they receive their gifts…and hopefully, they see some of the light and joy of Christ when we are there, and realize they are not forgotten…just a bit tucked away.  Until tomorrow, Feliz Año Nuevo…Happy New Year and God Bless You.

Birthdays and We Are All One in Jesus Christ

On December 6th the Marcos 10:14 Kid’s Club in Galeana, NL, Mexico celebrated with the children who had a birthday during the last quarter of the year. We honor kids every three months so that all are recognized through the course of the year. Those at club also learned how we Christians are unified through Jesus. “For you are all one in Christ Jesus,” says Galatians 3:28. It was also the memory verse for the week. The Bible lesson, singing, prayers, art and good food are always a part of the weekly meetings. The many kids who attend are encouraged by the steadfast love of our Lord.

Wait Patiently for the Promises of the Lord

About forty children came to the Marcos 10:14 Kid’s Club tent meeting to hear about the Lord on November 29th. “I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry,” this is from Psalms 40:1. It was the focus of the study and the teachers used hand puppets to make their points. Jesus’ disciples followed His command to wait for the Holy Spirit after his resurrection. The Holy Spirit was a surprise gift for those who were with the disciples. The kids got a surprise gift on this cold night, cup cakes with hot chocolate. Christ was glorified, the kids had fun and learned a little more about the Lord, it was a  good night at club.

There was about 40 kids at the meeting (click on a photo to see it larger)
