Kid’s Club: “The Triumphal Entry”

At the Marcos 10:14 Kid’s Club on April 6th we taught the children about Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem during the Passover Week before His crucifixion, as recorded in all four gospels (Mathew 21:1-11Mark 11:1-11Luke 19:29-40John 12:12-19). The Kids made palm branches from paper by cutting an outline of hands and gluing them together on a pop-sickle stick. One child was dressed to resemble Jesus and the Kid’s waved their palm branches as he “rode a donkey” through the double gates at the ministry house (see video below). It was a very powerful lesson!

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” John 12:13

Pastor Israel Passes

It is with a heavy heart I report that Pastor Israel went to be with our Lord this morning after a brief illness. He is the Galeana pastor Tonyia and I have know the longest, and he was a great friend of our ministry. He was Pastor of the Assembly of God Church here and the leader of a prominent local Christian Pastor’s association. Pastor Israel was a tremendous servant for Jesus and His Kingdom. He will be greatly missed! It was an honor to know and serve with him and his wife, Lesvia. We have know the couple for several years and they were some of the first people to welcome us to ministry in the Galeana area (see Ministry House Dinner with Pastor Israel).

He once told us that he had great respect for missionaries because it was a missionary who brought him to Jesus when he was a young man. He and his church supported missionaries both here and in other countries. He leaves behind his wife, a college age son and an adult daughter. I understand services will be held tomorrow in Linares, NL, MX.

“For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” 2 Corinthians 5:1

Honored to Teach Gospel to So Many Kids

It was our second week to have the Marco 10:14 Kid’s Club on a Thursday night and the momentum from the huge turnout last week continued. There were over 50 kids who showed up this week and several adults. It is a joy to see the kids and adults learning about Christ and the Bible. This week’s lesson was on Adam and Eve from Genesis.  The kids sang songs and played a few games before splitting up in groups for their Bible lesson. Ana taught the younger children inside Casa Alferero while Patty was outside with the older kids. After the Bible lesson, the kids came back together outside to make their craft. It an apple made from tissue paper. The night ended as always with juice and a snack. We are so honored to be a a part of sharing Jesus with these wonderful kids and adults!

Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put in into practice.” Luke 11:28

A Spring Break Adventure in Mexico

Jarrick, Gaige (age 13) and Jade (age 10) came to visit and work with our Mexico ministry around Galeana, Nuevo Leon. Jarrick is Stephen and Tonyia’s son and he and his family are from Boerne, Texas. They decided to come see us rather than spend their spring-break in a more touristy area.  For the kids it was mostly a time when there were no electronic devises and they had to learn how to interact with others who only speak Spanish and live in a different culture. They returned to their home after experiencing life in Mexico in a way most Americans have never seen. The three helped deliver meals to the elderly on Tuesday and were part of kid’s club on Wednesday. They were part of our ministry in other ways too.

But, it was not all work as we also made a trip to the Puente De Dios (Bridge of God), El Salto waterfalls near the town of  Zaragosa and made our way up the side of one of the largest mountains in Mexico. In the end they returned home tired, but satisfied their week was like none other they had ever expierenced. They vowed to come back. Below is their story in photos.

Plumbing Projects at Two Galeana Church Buildings

True Path Ministry Inc. made it possible during the last week of February for Pastor Hernadez and Pastor Reynaldo to make improvements at their church buildings.  For Pastor Hernadez we equip a new much needed bathroom. We installed the sewer and water supply lines, including a water heater and storage tank. The ministry also donated a new toilet and sink. The church has been working for some time to add more activity rooms, and the new facility is a big improvement. In addition, we wired in a new electrical breaker box, an upgrade from the old single fuse box.

During the same week we also helped with a new sewer line at Pastor Reynaldo’s church. Both projects were for good local Christian ministries dedicated to working hard for Jesus in the Galeana, Nuevo Leon, Mexico area.

We dug the ditch and supplied the sewer and water pipes.
