TPM Newsletter Spring/Summer 2023

Spring and Summer 2023 was a busy time serving Christ in Mexico. The weekly Marcos 10:14 Kids Club continues to go well; construction projects have moved along nicely; and our summer VBS program was a hit in four remote villages. Fourteen Christians were baptized in a mountain stream. The link below leads to a PDF file with a four-page True Path Ministry Spring/Summer Newsletter. It is full of highlights of our activities and is suitable for printing. Please pass a copy on to those who may not get online.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. You have made a difference for our Lord in Mexico.

God Bless,

Welcoming Worship

Worship is a key part of the Christian faith. Thirty kids at the True Path Ministry sponsored Marcos 10:14 Kids Club took a closer look at what it means to worship. In the September 14th meeting in Galeana, NL, Mexico, the kids were taught how to worship and shown ways to worship, such as we do in church. The Christian group meets every Thursday for a time of prayer, fun, Bible study, and food.

The area set aside for the children sits beside the Central Cristiano Getsemani Church building. Teacher Ana led the group into the church and taught them how to respect and understand the privilege of worshiping Christ. She invited them to kneel at the altar and encouraged them to lift prayers from the heart.

While the club always has a time of fun and food it is the experience of knowing Christ and his teaching that are at the center of everything they do. A good size core group of kids come every week and have grown greatly in their knowledge of the Lord. New kids are always welcome. For some this experience may have been the first time they set foot inside a church building.

Teacher Ana and other volunteers from the Central Cristiano Getsemani Church host the children in a welcoming and loving environment for the meetings. It is an honor to serve Christ in this way.

14 The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. 15 The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.” But the leaders were indignant. 16 They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.’ Matthew 21:14-16 (NLT)

La Presita Blessings

True Path Ministry and the Central Cristiano Getsemani church in Galeana ministered to children and adults in La Presita, NL, Mexico on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Texas visitors Will and wife Debbie Loveless, joined with missionaries Stephen and Tonyia Williams for the trip. Thirteen volunteers from Galeana road along on the 40 mile, two hour drive to make it a special day for the children and adults at the very remote church.

After a spirit-filled time of worship music lead by Birzabith, Galeana Pastor Lourdes preached a powerful message. Lourdes based her sermon on Ephesians 5:14 “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” After the service, each lady in the church received a gift bag full of hygiene items that were donated by a group in Texas and Debby donated a few caps to the men.

During the adult sermon, kids teacher Ana and thirty children were outside under a covering enjoying a time of prayer, songs, games, a Bible lesson and a bag of candy. Once all services had finished, the seventeen visitors from Galeana were fed by Pastor Eli’s family. It was then time for the traveling group to return to Galeana. What a great day serving the Lord!

VBS Mexico 2023 – A BIG HIT!

True Path Ministry and the Central Cristiano Getsemani church in Galeana teamed up recently to take vacation Bible school to four remote mountain villages in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The group was in: La Presita, July 31; Refugio, August 1; Canoas, August 2; and Purisima, August 4.

Each day a group of enthusiastic adult and youth volunteers loaded up from Galeana and climbed in the TPM one-ton van, along with gifts, musical instruments and special supplies. Travel always included a rough one hour or more ride on roads up and down steep mountains, often clinging to the edge of cliffs just to get to the isolated villages. But it was well worth it for all involved!

The VBS event was a welcome summer break for the children. It was a time to learn more about Jesus and have some fun. The kids enjoyed singing, games, craft projects, gifts and candy. The local pastor at each of the locations were given a “blessing bag” filled with essentials. In some locations families got clothing that was donated.

Because of the cost, most of these children seldom get to travel outside their villages or have visitors. Gas is well over the equivalent of four dollars per gallon in Mexico.

God has greatly blessed this ministry serving Mexico’s rural, often forgotten areas. The blessings extend powerfully to the givers as much as to the receivers. It is a privilege to serve in Christ’s mighty name! “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 (ESV)

Mexico Kids Club Honors Fathers

On June 15th the True Path Ministry sponsored Marcos 10:14 Kids Club honored fathers. Adult and youth volunteers from the Iglesia Getsemani church, led by teacher Ana, helped the children understand and celebrate Father’s Day with a Bible lesson and special craft project. Exodus 20:12 was at the center of the meeting. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.” Prayer, songs, games, a Bible lesson, a craft project plus a meal are part of the weekly club meetings.

We are grateful to God to be part of these kids lives.
