Let Peace of Christ Rule Your Heart

My drawings are simple “doodles” I made while studying the Bible. It helps me to meditate and internalize the deep meaning of scriptures. I take to heart these powerful words that were written to Christians.

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.Colossians 3:15 (ESV)

1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your] life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.  And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:1-15 (ESV)

New Bibles in Palmito

On Saturday, April 13th two faithful Christians were awarded leather-bound Bibles to replace the ones we had given them a year earlier. They had worn-out the paperback “missionary” Bibles.

A group from the Getsemani Church in Galeana, NL, Mexico loaded in the True Path Ministry Suburban and traveled to Palmito last Saturday. It is a tiny mountain village where a small group of Christians are once again praising Christ together.

Pastors Reynaldo and Lulu from the Getsemani Church in Galeana, Evangelist Ramiro and others have joined with 85 year-old Pastor Ruban to revise the church in the community. The word of God, hymns and powerful preaching is once again inspiring local folks. They worship in a small, but spirit-filled service in a very old sandstone building.

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 (ESV)

Church Update: Porch & Kid’s Rooms

The new church construction project in Galeana, NL, Mexico recently reached a milestone with the completion of a concrete front porch area that also serves as the roof of the children’s area. Two rooms for the niños (children) are located underneath the entrance that is in the front of the building.

True Path Ministry Inc. and Iglesia (church) Getsemani in Galeana, Nuevo Leon, often work as a team to serve the Lord in Mexico. Together we are in the process of constructing a new church building. It is located above the town on the side of a mountain that is viable all over. Reynaldo and wife Lourdes are the pastors.

The congregation has already begun to worship in the new building (see Getsemani Church: Built on Jesus the Rock). It moved from a small rented storefront where the overflow crowd sometimes spilled into the side walk. The new structure has ample room for growth and we continue to see new families drawn to Christ through our ministries.

There is still a long ways to go before it will be finished including:
installing the large front door; a ramp and permanent steps added at the entrance; railing installed on the porch; sheet metal roof finished; windows and doors installed in the new kid rooms; the entire structure has to be stuccoed; all of it needs paint; tile on the floors; better parking added; entrance roadway improved and other details. There is a lot to do for a small church in Mexico but, we know the Lord will make a way!

Iglesia Getsemani has had numerous fund raisers, food sales, garage like sales and congregation offerings. And many members have volunteered to help with construction. Galeana is in a beautiful mountainous area, but is economically poor. Historically low-paying service and agriculture related businesses are the primary sources of income for people here. The Christians in area are strong in their faith and in the hope only our Lord Jesus gives. It is an honor to share the gospel here.

True Path Ministry Inc. has had the privilege of helping in the Lord’s work in the Galeana area with the help and support of several churches and individuals in Texas. That support includes prayers, financial gifts and visitor’s time. Thank you for investing in God’s work here through us. It is humbling to be used by the Lord for His kingdom!

If you are moved to invest financially visit our support page.

Sharper Than Any Two-Edged Sword

The word of God is a powerful thing! “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart,” Hebrews 4:12.

It is our “sword of the spirit” as it says in Ephesians 6:17. But it only has power for us to use if we know it as recorded in the Bible and know the living word who is Jesus (John 1:1, 14). Sharpen your sword, read your Bible and worship the King of kings today.

Always Tell the Truth

The Marcos 10:14 Kids Club in Galeana, NL, Mexico taught the importance of telling the truth as a Christian. The meeting on April 4th used an Old Testament story to reinforce a New Testament verse.

Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,  but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected… 1 John 2:4-5. This was the memory verse for the week.

Part of the lesson was the Old Testament story of a king who would not listen to the truth from God’s prophet Micaiah, but instead listened to
lying spirits from the prophets who spoke the words he wanted to hear. The story is told in 2 Chronicles 18.

The word search puzzle each child completed also reminded them of the memory verse. Prayer, songs, games and a meal is always part of the weekly club meeting. Christ is at the center of all activities.
