Pastor Reynaldo and his family had to make two moves in the last month – most recently where they sleep and earlier where his church meets. It was two big events in a short time. Pastor Reynaldo, wife Lourdes, children Ariel age 5, Jose age 8 and Elias one year are one of the sweetest families we have ever met. They are totally committed to serving the Lord.

Pastor Rey got word that he needed to move out of his home, as the owner wanted to use the space for storage, in eight days. They found a place they could afford with three good size rooms, a bathroom and an outside area for the kids. But there were no doors between rooms, no kitchen sink, broken windows, the toilet leaked, the shower did not work, there was no water heater and a tiny old rusty water storage tank on the roof. It was a mess.

The True Path Ministry team (mainly Martin because Stephen had an injured leg) stepped in to make the house livable and to help the family get resettled. Thanks to a couple of sizable personal donations, we were able to do a lot.

We installed a completely new water system – roof-top tank, new galvanized hot and cold water pipes, new water heater, new shower plumbing, new double kitchen sink, new toilet seal and new washer hookup. On top of everything else their old washer quit. It was a bonus that we were able to get them a new washer. Lourdes was using a scrub-board and water tubs to clean the mounds of dirty laundry a family of five produces.

Pastor Rey leads the Getsemani Church in Galeana along with Lourdes who plays the guitar, sings and also teaches. They have worship three times a week, plus special prayer meetings. Services usually last two hours or more.

Tonyia and I regularly attend services at Getsemani Church and it was “busting at the seams” in its old location. Often there was standing room only, with a healthy mix of people both young and old. They have a bustling children’s program and an active marriage support function. They work with us to send the kids from their church to Marcos 10:14 on Wednesdays.

Sandra, director of Neuvo Carazon and Lourdes are happy with the new church.

An opportunity came open where they could move into a larger building on a high-traffic street near downtown. The new building has a larger worship area, also there are rooms upstairs where they can better divide the different age children. Plus it cost no more than the old place because they share the rental fee with Nuevo Corazon Galeana (a local elderly feeding ministry).

But, it required extensive renovation, and in Mexico that expense is usually left to the tenant. Thanks to some generous contributions True Path Ministry was able to rewire the building, install new plumbing and several other projects.

It is a spiritually rich church, but one with very limited financial resources. Pastor Rey was trusting the Lord to provide for them to make so many changes in such a short time. We are so incredibly humbled that Jesus used us as a conduit to help His kingdom here. Pastor Rey’s faith reminds me of what Paul said in Philillians 4:

12 I know both how to face humble circumstances and how to have abundance. Everywhere and in all things I have learned the secret, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things because of Christ who strengthens me.

MRI Results: Good News

Some of you may recall I injured my leg climbing a ladder Thursday September 8 when I was working on Pastor Reynaldo’s Church. A good Galeana doctor I saw sent me to get a MRI after that injury seemed slow in healing. Yesterday I saw the doctor again and he had the results. The way I understand it, I have a severely stressed tendon, however it was not torn and should heal on its own. The doctor urged me to limit using my injured leg. “Rest” he said and the Lord will heal it.

Galeana: ¿Tiene paz en su vida? Revival, Oct. 22-23

True Path Ministry, Inc. is hosting a “¿Tiene paz en su vida?” (Do you have peace in your life) revival on October 22-23, 2016 at 7 PM on the lot beside “Casa Cristiana El Alfarero” (the ministry house). It is located in the Santa Rita area of Galeana, NL, Mexico.  Evangelist Robert Mesa from Yoakum, Texas will deliver a powerful, spirit-filled, gospel message each evening.  “I have turned down invitations to preach more in the USA because the Lord has clearly told me that Mexico is where He wants me to spread the gospel,” said Mesa.

He is a well known Evangelist who has preached extensively in Mexico and also to Spanish-speaking audiences in the USA. He, accompanied by wife Marina, most recently preached in churches big and small in the Mexican state of Puebla. Each time Jesus was glorified, a clear gospel message was delivered and the Holy Spirit was at work.

For the Galeana revival, music will be provided by Banda El Privilegio Divino, from the mountain village of Purismo, and  Juan Oviedo, from Galeana. Plus the Marcos 10:14 kids will sing and SIGN I have decided to follow Jesus . It will be a great time of worship to King Jesus!

Most local Christian pastors will also be involved. Casa Cristiana El Alfarero is not a church. When people make a first-time confession of faith in Jesus they will need to be discipled by a local church. “We plan to have a poster that shows where churches in the area are located and the pastors present will be recognized,” said Stephen Williams with True Path Ministry, Inc. “The goal of this revival is to bring people to faith in Jesus.”

True Path Ministry, Inc. works with local Christian ministries and pastors in Mexico. It is associated with Independent Assemblies in the USA and Centro Cristiano Victria, IPCCVM SEGOB A.R. 3098-2008, in Mexico.

Please pray for us as we prepare for this major event. If you would like to make a tax-deductable donation visit our “support” page on this website.

Marcos 10:14 Club Update: God is in control

We were not sure, when we first started kids club in July, if Wednesdays would be the best day. Some kids do not get out of school until 5 pm and club starts at 6 pm. However, every week we are in Awe!

The kids keep a journal of their memory Bible verses.

The kids keep a journal of their memory Bible verses.

Week after week we have a consistent 35-40 kids. Recently we began to have young mothers bringing their babies. We believe God is using this ministry to reach beyond just kids. It’s not what we expected at all.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your way my ways,” declares the Lord in Isaiah 55:8. I am so thankful that God is in control and that He is not limited to how I think things should be.

What an amazing opportunity! Our pray is that the Holy Spirit will guide many more to come. That this place will be for all to hear and learn how much Jesus loves them.

The kid’s club teacher, Yessi, always has a simple straightforward gospel message. This week she used the cross in the Christian flag to discuss what Jesus has done for us. “He is not on the cross because he is alive,” she said. She went on to explain what each color in the flag means. The kids made their own Christian flags during craft time. Some were given prizes for accurately recalling the lesson.

It is such a blessing to be with the kids as they learn about Jesus and the Bible. We were also happy to have Pastor Jose and his family from Dieciocho de Marzo. He had been hearing about our program and wanted to see what we were doing.

They are learning how to use sign language to a Christian song.

We want to expand our evangelism. In October 22-23 we will be having a revival at the Casa Cristiana el Alfarero. The kids will wear their Marcos 10:14 T-shirts they will soon have. And, they will sing and SIGN I have decided to follow Jesus in front of the audience. When the kids were asked how many would like to come to revival and perform, they all raised their hands. We are so excited and we will be posting more about the revival soon.

Please include our weekly Marcos 10:14 Kid’s Club in your prayers. Also, if you would like to make a donation to True Path Ministry Inc. visit our support page.

Christmas Gifts Needed for Mexico

xmasgift1We need your help. True Path Ministry, Inc. is planning to deliver over 300 Christmas gifts this year to kids in some of the most remote areas of Northern Mexico. These are places where other gift programs do not reach and our presents will likely be the only ones these children will get.

We need folks in the USA to start collecting items for the gifts. We have already purchased the bags for the gifts and once everything is gathered, we will divide the items by gender. We like to include a small toy or two, candy and some usable items such as combs, toothbrushes and hair barrettes. You will find a list of suggestions on our support page.

Tonyia and Stephen will be in the Bandera, Sweetwater and Waxahachie areas of Texas in late November. Please let us know by email if you have items to donate: way@truepathministry.com or see our contact page for others ways to get with us.

During our time here our team has visited many small and economically poor villages such as Las Canoas or Canon De Vacas. These small villages are in remote areas where few visitors ever go. During the Christmas season we will return to many of them, hold a worship service and hand out the gifts to grateful, smiling kids. It’s not just about receiving a material gift. This may be the first time these kids hear the gospel and learn that the most important gift they could ever receive is Jesus Christ.

Please include us in your prayers for our ongoing work here and for this gift project. There are many challenges to gathering items for the gifts, getting them across the border and delivering them to the kids who need a touch from Jesus.

If you prefer to support this effort with a financial donation, that too is welcomed (see our support page). If you say on the donation it is for this Christmas Gift program, it will be used only for this purpose.
