‘You Shall Love Your Neighbor as Yourself’

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31 ESV)

The Marcos 10:14 Kid’s Club learned on February 8th that Jesus told us these are the greatest commandments. The club meeting began with games and singing outside, but as the sun sank in the west it got very cold. The kids and adults crowded inside Casa Alfarero (ministry house) to finish the lesson, drink their hot chocolate and eat Mexican sweet-bread. The paper hearts with the kid’s hand prints was an especially appropriate project just before Valentine’s Day. It is also celebrated in Mexico.  It was another fun and educational club meeting. The Marcos 10:14 Kid’s Club meets every Thursday and is open to any child in the area who wants to come.

The art project was hand prints inside a heart (click on a photo to see it larger).

The games were held outside before it got too cold.

Teacher Patty stood on the stairs to talk to the children inside the house.

Hot coco was well received by the kids.

Mexican sweet-bread is always a treat.

A Ray of Hope to San Pablo

We could see tears in their eyes, and the good-bye hug Pastor Juan and his wife gave us was extra tight. The Galeana group of Christians brought a much appreciated ray of hope to San Pablo, Mexico on Saturday, February 3rd.

Worship was sweet with the overflow crowd that filled the small church. Many of the local folks showed up with worn Bibles in hand. The thirty kids were also eager to learn more about Christ during their time when the adults were listening to Evangelist Ramiro’s powerful sermon.

His sermon was based on Psalm 118:5-9. He has a way of interacting with people and meeting them where they are. The singing before the sermon was spirit-filled. Lulu used her acoustic guitar and beautiful singing voice to lead the crowd into a deep time of worship.

We also had lots of clothes, reading glasses, Bibles, toothbrushes, soap and gifts for the children and ladies after the service. It was a very fulfilling time serving our Lord Jesus the Christ.

“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?  The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” Psalm 118:5-9 (ESV)

A good group of Christians from Galeana, NL, Mexico made the hour drive to share the day with folks in San Pablo (click on a photo to see it larger).

Several of the ladies from Galeara sang a special.

Lulu played her acoustic guitar to lead the song service in the over full church building.

Pastor Rey was also involved in the service.

Evangelist Ramiro gave an uplifting sermon.

Pastor Juan and his wife in front of the small church building.

The kids enjoyed their time too.

Teached Ana talked about the sower and the seed.

The art project was a hit with the kids.

We gave out several Bibles to folks who asked for one.

We had several boxes of clothes for the village.

Reading glasses, toothbrushes and bars of soap were popular too.

We gave gifts to the children.

The Pastor and his wife got a special “blessing bag.”

The Pastor would like our help to build a new bathroom.

Getting the electricity to work was an interesting task.

It was a long dirt road in the desert to get to San Pablo.

Traffic on the road was also interesting.

This is a typical adobe home that is found in the area.

Good Fruit and Fruit Loops

I (Stephen) never would have imagined how much of a treat Fruit Loops cereal would be to the children at the Marcos 10:14 kid’s club on February 1st. Our study was about how good seed bears good fruit (from Mark 4:3-20. ) The craft was to make a paper tree using Fruit Loops as the leaves. We also gave them Fruit Loops and milk as a snack. They loved the cereal and kept coming back for more and more. They filled their stomachs in addition to filling their minds with the Bible lesson. It was a good night for the forty kids and twelve adults who were at the weekly club meeting in Galeana, NL, Mexico.

Teacher Patty showed the kids an example for craft time.

The kids enjoy the art projects that support the Bible lesson.

There were several adults on hand to help with the glue during the craft time.

Fruit Loops cereal was a big treat for the kids.

There were also some fun games for children.

We also had oranges for the club kids with their seeds representing the “good seed” in the parable.

Meeting a Family’s Need

True Path Ministry is going to further improve living conditions for a young family the Lord has placed in our path. Eva, age ten, and Diana, eight, had been coming to club for some time, but when Pastor Rey pointed them out to me (Tonyia) and asked if I could help them with clothes, my attention was captured. This family of seven, two adults and five children, live in a 12′ x 12′ room with no running water, no kitchen and no bathroom.

The family of seven sleep in this small building (click on a photo to see it larger).

I believe Christ placed these two young girls and their family in our ministry’s path for a reason. Steve and I gathered the girls some clothes from ones we had stored at the ministry house. Soon we had to make a trip to Monterrey, for ministry business, and at that time purchased clothes for all the kids.

I do not know where their hearts are, but my desire is to help these people the best I can by showing them the love of Jesus. These children hear about the love of Jesus at Marcos 10:14 club and now they will, see it with their eyes, thru us, and prayerfully this will draw them to HIM.

James 1:17 says: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

We will soon start the work on getting this family a bathroom. We have a Rotoplas (water tank) which has been repaired and we will take it to the family Monday. This will at least give them a water source.

I know God has his hand over True Path Ministry and the many projects lined up for us in 2018. It’s a privilege to be a small part of what He is up to! Thank you all for your love and prayers!

If you would like to financially support True Path Ministry Inc. and want your donation to go to this specific project, note that on your check, and send it to the address on our “support” page.

True Path Ministry, along with Pastor Reynaldo, Lulu and his family took the family clothes, food, pans and other necessities.

We first met two of the girls from the family at club. One is very shy (sitting in the back).

Cold Day, Hot Meal, Warmed Hearts

We often encounter smiles from folks when we deliver the meals on Tuesdays. However, January 23rd was an especially cold day and the nutritious hot soup Nuevo Corazon made was warmly received by all. One man was not at his home when we drove by, but we later found him looking for a meal in a trash can beside the road. We felt his gratitude deeply, but  the praise was for Christ. He is why Nuevo Corazon cooks the food and why we deliver the meals. Jesus gets the glory!

Please pray for this ministry and if you would like to contribute financially visit our “support” page.

Some houses where we stop are little more than cardboard (click on a photo to see it larger).

Sandra and Patty, her daughter, are responsible for the meals.

Pastor Reynaldo, Lulu and Patty help package the food for delivery.

We often have others help us do the fun part, deliver the meals. Abdiel, Pastor Rey’s son, helped us last week. This week Rey’s nephew assisted us.
