Kids Taught, Restrooms Built and Land Leveled

True Path Ministry Inc. and the Iglesia Getsemani church in Galeana, NL, Mexico are close working partners in Christian ministry. In the middle of the pandemic the Lord has allowed us to teach kids about Christ. He has given us the resources to complete a second restroom in the church building and a way to level land beside the church building to construct a children’s area.

The property where we plan to add a kid’s education facility is on the side of a rock hill and has to be leveled by chipping away a layer of solid rock. We were able to find a local company that had a tractor with a jackhammer attachment. They have begun the task of chiseling away the rock and the site is taking shape. We will soon begin building a covered pavilion that will serve as the focus for TPM’s children’s center in the area.

Our master mason, Juan, continues to work inside the Iglesia Getsemani building. He is in the final stages of completing a second restroom. The walls are up, the toilets and sinks are in. During normal times the building can hold two hundred people and having two restrooms is needed.

We are also proud that the Iglesia Getsemani Church has been able to hold some children’s Christian education functions. There are strict COVID-19 local regulations with a special enforcement group. The church members have worked closely with officials to stay within proper bounds. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm (from Isaiah 25:4 NIV).

Pastor Selodonio’s Answered Prayer

We asked Pastor Selodonio what his greatest need was, for what are you praying? True Path Ministry (TPM) was in his village that is tucked away deep in the mountains on December 31st (see Gospel, Gifts and Fellowship in Refugio). His reply, “a different vehicle, one that is reliable, that does not produce fumes in the cab and one that has more seating for my family.” He and his family carry the Gospel of Christ to four rural churches scattered throughout the area’s rugged terrain every week.

TPM has known and worked with Pastor Selodonio for several years. His faithfulness and commitment to the Lord is unwavering. We have noticed that members of his congregation bring their Bibles to services and have a spiritual depth that comes from good leadership. TPM set out to find a better vehicle for Pastor Selodonio. Our close partner in ministry, Pastor Reynaldo, found one online in a nearby city that seemed to fit his needs. We took Pastor Selodonio to look at it and we took it for a test drive. Thankfully, due to your faithful prayers and giving, we were able to buy it for him.

Pastor Selodonio kept saying “I can’t believe such a nice truck is mine.” He was so grateful. He lives off the land and has very meager financial means, but he is rich in other ways. The Bible tells us: Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 (ESV)

Sweet Worship in San Pablo

It was a cool morning as True Path Ministry and members of Getsemani Iglesia, Galeana NL traveled to the small arid village, San Pablo on January 2, 2021.

A time of worship led by Lourdes and a vibrant sermon preached by Evangelist Ramiro was received with grateful hearts. The children had their separate service outdoors. It was an honor to be the first to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these hungry souls. No one had been to the church to preach in over a year.

Several came forward to thank the Lord for His many blessings and were prayed for. Many received new Bibles, some got new reading glasses, as the children received a gift and candy. We are humbled and blessed to be a part of what God is doing in Mexico! Who am I that the LORD of All knows my name and will use me for His glory?

What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas.O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth! Psalms 8:4-8 (NKJV)

A Good Start to a New Year Began in Canoas

True Path Ministry and others from the Getsemani Iglesia church in Galeana NL traveled to the remove village of Canoas on January 1, 2021. It has been months since anyone has been to visit and the people were beyond excited to welcome us. It was a cool morning with some wind but that did not stop the Spirit from moving! Even the kids service outside was a fun filled time with the LORD!

There were less people than we had anticipated. We were told it is because families are not traveling due to the virus. The pastor said their village has been spared from the virus and he gave all glory to God!

Evangelist Ramiro preached an important message about the mercy of God. The kids received their gifts with huge smiles on their faces! The ladies rummaged through clothes and were thrilled to receive personal items like: soap, shampoo and towels. We were thanked by all for coming and the many blessings that God has allowed us to bestow on them. Our hearts are full!!

You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance. Psalms 65:11 (NKJV)

Gospel, Gifts and Fellowship in Refugio

A group traveling with True Path Ministry on December 31st took the gospel, gifts and the joy of Christian fellowship to Refugio, NL, Mexico, an extremely remote mountain village. Normally it is a rough couple of hours to drive clinging to the edge of mountains on challenging dirt roads. But on this day we encountered snow making this trip even more of an adventure.

We held our service at Pastor Selodonio’s home church awning near Refugio. He faithfully serves as pastor to four remote churches in small villages scattered throughout the mountains. He and his wife and family are committed to a life of service to Christ. A group from his churches traveled in to worship with us, see the kid’s get gifts and to enjoy the first outsiders to be there in a long time. It was a joy filled day praising the Lord!

For this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10 (ESV)
