Giving the Gift of The Gospel in the Mountains of Mexico

True Path Ministry Inc. (TPM) and members of the Iglesia Getsemani Church made their way deep into the mountains of northern Mexico to the tiny village, Refugio. Pastor Selodonio shepherds four small churches in the area and told us the best gift we gave them today was the gospel of Christ. Worship with the folks there was deeply spiritual. The music was uplifting and the sermon was inspiring.

The kids had their own special time of fun and learning under the pine trees. They sang, had a lesson, made a special gift for their mothers (Monday is Mother’s Day in Mexico) and got a bag of candy.

We also gave out reading glasses and a “blessing bag” for Pastor Selodonio and his family. It was a great day serving Christ.

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

TPM and Galeana Church Alive and Well

True Path Ministry Inc. (TPM) missionaries Stephen and Tonyia were in Galeana, NL, Mexico after being away for some time due to COVID travel restrictions. The town is our base of operation in Mexico. We are strongly associated with Iglesia Getsemani church, we work together on all aspects of Christian ministry. We found Pastors Reynaldo and Lourdes have maintained a vibrant and growing Church. They have also kept TPM projects moving. Together, during trying times, we have shared the love of Christ with many.

The COVID-19 epidemic continues to be a concern in Mexico. The vaccine is currently being given to teachers (schools are still not in session). We are able to have church, but older folks must wear masks and maintain a distance with others.

We found worship was well attended, with lively music and spirit-filled worship. Most seats were taken both on Sunday and Wednesday. The mid-week service message this week was delivered by Gladis. She is a girl we have watched several years grow physically and spiritually. She is now a Christian teen, a committed believer, who spoke with great confidence in her faith. She approached pastor Rey and asked if she could share, and He agreed. Her message included a dozen or so Bible verses and she expounded on each one.

We also witnessed a wedding for a young couple in the church. We saw many folks we have been around for years, plus new faces. The church is doing well and our construction projects on the property are advancing.

The construction projects are going well. The interior doors and closet units were installed in pastor Rey and Lulu’s house. A new kids club area structure was added and will soon have an expanded roof covering. This area then can have multiple uses, such as a wedding reception or outdoor Revivals. The second restroom in the church building is nearly complete. Plans are to add a second floor on the house that will serve as the TPM visitor’s quarters. It will be for people who visit from the US and Mexico Christians who need a place to stay and as a base of operations for TPM in Mexico.

TPM also works with Evangelist Ramiro. He was unable to preach for many months, but now is being asked by pastors near and far to come share the gospel. He has preached in tents, small churches and in some places where travel can be dangerous.

True Path Ministry and Iglesia Getsemani church are extremely grateful for God’s favor and the supporters who keep the ministries going. You are Christ’s ambassadors by answering years of prayers for the believers here, Thank YOU!

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (ESV)

Kids Club Area Near Complete, Preaching and Front Porch

True Path Ministry Inc. and and the Iglesia Getsemani church in Galeana, NL, Mexico continue their close working relationship for Christ. They are beginning to increase ministry activities as COVID-19 eases and are developing new resources to serve the Lord.

The latest construction project is a concrete floor and metal roof on a new addition next to the Iglesia Getsemani church. The building is newly constructed, and soon concrete block sides will be going up. Once complete it will provide children, youth and other ministry areas a place for Christian learning and activities. It will be used to relaunch the Marcos 10:14 Kids Club, Church related education and youth activities. Also, a new covered front porch area was added to the parsonage. The house faces west and the porch will shade the living area, keeping it cooler.

It is exciting that Pastors Reynaldo and Lourdes are able to hold more normal services in the Galeana Iglesia Getsemani church building. Pastor Reynaldo was also able to travel to Monterrey for a special speaking engagement.

Evangelist Ramiro, who often works with TPM, has seen his schedule fill up too. He was the key Christian speaker recently in Saltillo and has other engagements scheduled for April.

Hungry hearts are being fed the Gospel of Christ as the global COVID-19 pandemic seems to be easing its hold on activities in northern Mexico.

And he [Jesus] said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Mark 16:15 (ESV) https://classic.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%2016%3A15&version=ESV;RVR1960

Kids Taught, Restrooms Built and Land Leveled

True Path Ministry Inc. and the Iglesia Getsemani church in Galeana, NL, Mexico are close working partners in Christian ministry. In the middle of the pandemic the Lord has allowed us to teach kids about Christ. He has given us the resources to complete a second restroom in the church building and a way to level land beside the church building to construct a children’s area.

The property where we plan to add a kid’s education facility is on the side of a rock hill and has to be leveled by chipping away a layer of solid rock. We were able to find a local company that had a tractor with a jackhammer attachment. They have begun the task of chiseling away the rock and the site is taking shape. We will soon begin building a covered pavilion that will serve as the focus for TPM’s children’s center in the area.

Our master mason, Juan, continues to work inside the Iglesia Getsemani building. He is in the final stages of completing a second restroom. The walls are up, the toilets and sinks are in. During normal times the building can hold two hundred people and having two restrooms is needed.

We are also proud that the Iglesia Getsemani Church has been able to hold some children’s Christian education functions. There are strict COVID-19 local regulations with a special enforcement group. The church members have worked closely with officials to stay within proper bounds. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm (from Isaiah 25:4 NIV).

Pastor Selodonio’s Answered Prayer

We asked Pastor Selodonio what his greatest need was, for what are you praying? True Path Ministry (TPM) was in his village that is tucked away deep in the mountains on December 31st (see Gospel, Gifts and Fellowship in Refugio). His reply, “a different vehicle, one that is reliable, that does not produce fumes in the cab and one that has more seating for my family.” He and his family carry the Gospel of Christ to four rural churches scattered throughout the area’s rugged terrain every week.

TPM has known and worked with Pastor Selodonio for several years. His faithfulness and commitment to the Lord is unwavering. We have noticed that members of his congregation bring their Bibles to services and have a spiritual depth that comes from good leadership. TPM set out to find a better vehicle for Pastor Selodonio. Our close partner in ministry, Pastor Reynaldo, found one online in a nearby city that seemed to fit his needs. We took Pastor Selodonio to look at it and we took it for a test drive. Thankfully, due to your faithful prayers and giving, we were able to buy it for him.

Pastor Selodonio kept saying “I can’t believe such a nice truck is mine.” He was so grateful. He lives off the land and has very meager financial means, but he is rich in other ways. The Bible tells us: Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 (ESV)
