Salvation and Healing at Refugio

January 2, 2026

Stephen and Tonyia Williams of True Path Ministry, along with their friend Debbie and a group from Centro Cristiano Getsemaní in Galeana, Nuevo León, traveled to Refugio by way of a long, windy, dusty mountain road.

We were warmly greeted by Pastor Celedonio and his wife, Elsa, who were overjoyed to see us. The ranch is about 54 miles away, but the rough and dangerous road makes the trip take nearly two hours. Because of its remoteness and difficult access, we are likely the only missionaries who regularly visit this ranch.

After arriving, we were served a wonderful meal cooked over a wood-burning stove. The food included potatoes with beef, a zucchini and tomato mix, rice, beans, and fresh tortillas. It was a true feast and lovingly prepared.

Following the meal, the service began. Lulu led worship, and several families came forward to thank the Lord for bringing them into a new year, offering songs of praise.

Abdiel, Pastor Rey’s son, preached the message. True Path Ministry is blessed to sponsor several students, including Abdiel, who attend Berea Instituto Bíblico in Monterrey. He preached from John 3:16, sharing how God loved us even while we were sinners and offers us eternal life.

After the message, Pastor Rey closed the service and invited those who wanted prayer to come forward. He asked Lulu and me (Tonyia) to pray for the people. As they knelt, I laid my hands on one woman and began to pray. Although my Spanish is limited, the Holy Spirit moved powerfully.

While praying for a young woman, I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to ask if she had received Jesus in her heart. Because of the language barrier, I asked Lulu to speak with her. The young woman shared that she had never accepted Jesus but wanted to do so. Lulu prayed with her as she spoke the words of salvation. I cried tears of joy as I thanked Jesus for saving her. Lulu then explained how to pray and talk with God at any time. I went to the car, brought her a Bible, and gave it to her.

After everyone returned to their seats, a mother came forward asking for prayer for her daughter, Luzma Alejandra, who had pain in her knees. I placed my hands on the little girl’s knees, and we prayed. When we asked if she still had pain, she said yes, so we prayed again. When we asked her a second time, she said the pain was gone. Thank you, Jesus!

The children then enjoyed a special time with songs, a lesson about walking with Jesus, and a craft. We ended the day by handing out backpacks, candy, blankets, men’s hats, and stuffed animals.

God moved in powerful ways at Refugio, bringing salvation, healing, and great joy.

Purisima Church Building Completed!

The new church building in Purisima is complete—and it feels like the best Christmas gift the village and surrounding communities could have hoped for. It is truly the answer to many years of prayer.

The Lord worked through the supporters of True Path Ministry, the oversight of Centro Cristiana Getsemaní in Galeana, NL, and the faithful service of the Dios Está Aquí congregation in Purisima.

Pastor Rebeca began using the building long before construction officially finished. As soon as the roof was installed in April 2025, weekly services and children’s Christian education classes started immediately.

Construction first began in May 2024 (see Church Building Begins in Purisima). Before this new facility, the church met in a tiny wooden structure and later in an event tent.

This new worship center also fulfills the final wish of Pastor Lebardo. Before going to be with Jesus, he entrusted the ministry to his daughter, Rebeca. With a clear calling from God, she now serves faithfully as the full-time pastor.

Both Centro Cristiana Getsemaní in Galeana and Dios Está Aquí in Purisima are True Path Ministry partners, working together to serve the often-overlooked people living in the remote mountains of northern Mexico.

Through True Path Ministry and its supporters, we continue to answer our Lord’s call to carry the gospel beyond borders.

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” —2 Corinthians 5:20

August a Fun Month for Christians in Mexico

August 2025 has been another fun month with True Path Ministry serving Jesus.

The kids are out for summer break but the Marcos 10:14 club continues every week. On Tuesdays, club is in El Derramadero and on Thursdays in Galeana. It is a joy to see these kids come week after week to praise and learn about Jesus! (see photos below).

At the end of July TPM visited several ranches having a VBS type service. The kids prayed, sang songs, the Gospel was preached and each child received a goody bag (follow one of the links for story: Purisima, El Derramadero, Refugio). The month ended with 6 people from Centro Cristiano Getsemaní church following their profession of faith and getting baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost! (follow link for complete article and photos Six Baptized… )

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Thank you to all who support and pray for Gods blessings to continue our work in Mexico.

Six Baptized in Mountain Stream Near Galeana

On August 2, 2025, six members of Centro Cristiana Getsemaní church publicly declared their faith in Christ through baptism in a clear mountain stream near Galeana, NL, Mexico. A group of enthusiastic church members traveled in the True Path Ministry van and other vehicles to witness the special occasion. The gathering included praise songs, a short message, and heartfelt prayers.

Pastors Reynaldo and Lourdes shared scriptures and delivered a brief message. Abraham and his wife Lupita assisted each participant into and out of the water. The six individuals, diverse in age and life experience, were united in their commitment to follow Christ. It was a memorable and meaningful day for everyone present.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” said Jesus — Matthew 28:19 (NKJV)
