Kid Fun for Jesus in San Ildefonso

February 11, 2023, True Path Ministry along with a team from Iglesia Getsemani traveled high into the mountains of Mexico. The early morning was cold, in the 20s, but soon warmed to the mid-50s. The travel was mountainous and dirty, rain is needed here. Our destination was northwest to a small remote town named San Ildefonso. The drive took us 2 hours to travel 28 miles.

Traveling to these remote villages can be treacherous but it is always an encouragement to our hearts and the people we encounter. The church soon filled with children and their moms. Most of the men were working so we decided to have a kids only program.

Teacher Ana opened with a word of prayer, followed by songs, games and a Bible lesson. The Bible lesson taught the children about being a friend at all times even during adversity – Proverbs 17:17. Once the lesson was complete, we all chipped in and helped the children complete their art project.

We then lined the children up by ages and gender. If the child was under the age of 4, they received a bag full of toys and Christian tract. Each school age child received a backpack full of school supplies, a gift, and a Christian tract. The children were grateful and content.

A pile of donated clothes was scattered at the back of the church and the women did not waste any time grabbing what they wanted. We gave blankets to the pastor’s wife to distribute to the church families. The pastor’s family fed our group before we departed on our long journey home.

The need for spiritual food and physical support is great in Mexico, not only to share the Love of Jesus but to encourage them in their faith. Many of these remote villages never receive visitors and to know that like-minded Christians will come not only blesses them, but in turn we receive a  blessing.

Please be in prayer for this ministry, which God began. We covet your prayers!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9 NIV)

Leaf Springs, Chairs, Blankets, Clothes and Blessings

Pastor Seldonio, wife Elsa and youngest son Diago were in Galeana, NL, Mexico seeking help with the rearend on his Ford F150. One of leaf springs was broken in two and the differential was being held in place with some bailing wire and a rope. They serve the Lord, ministering to four tiny village churches near Refugio. It is about two hours drive in the highest and roughest mountain area where True Path Ministry has traveled.

Our mechanic, Benjamin (Pastor Rey’s younger brother), determined the only way to fix it was different intact leaf springs. After a full day trying to find a replacement, we discovered a perfect match on a wrecked truck in San Joaquin. San Joaquin is on a main highway, in a desert area, an hour’s drive from Galeana. We decided it was best to buy the leaf springs for both sides.

Pastor Seldonio and family stayed overnight in the TPM ministry house so the repairs could be completed the next day. Pastors Rey and Lulu, of Iglesia Getsemani, were gracious hosts.  Pastor Seldonio was able to join the men’s Bible study, at Iglesia Getsemani, that meets every Tuesday night. It was a rare treat as he is not only a preacher, but a farmer and rancher, that seldom has time to spend a night away from home.

On Wednesday, mechanic Benjamin got the used leaf springs installed. We loaded Pastor Selodonio’s truck with some chairs that had been donated from a Texas church. The chairs are a blessing and will used for church services. We gave Pastor Selodonio some blankets and baby carriers to take back, all valuable treasures for members of his remote congregation.

Ministry in Mexico comes in many forms. Thanks to our supporter’s prayers and financial gifts, TPM is able to show the love of Jesus spiritually and physically in a way that truly blesses others.

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;  if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:6-8 (ESV).

A Day of God’s Joy in La Presita

True Path Ministry and Iglesia Getsemani Church, Galeana, NL, Mexico, joined together to take the joy of Jesus’ love to the remote village of La Presita on Saturday February 4. A Spirit filled time of worship, singing, prayer and preaching was held for all. The children had a special time set aside just for them. They enjoyed songs, prayer, a Bible study and craft based on Psalm 23. After services ended, backpacks filled with school supplies, a gift and Christian tract were handed out to the older kids. The smaller children were given a bag of goodies which included a Christian tract and toys. Clothing was spread out for the families to take what was needed.

There is a special joy in sharing with others. We go to bless others and are blessed ourselves.

Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? James 2:5 (ESV).

Blessings Beyond a Season

Note: Guest written by first time visitors Will & Debby Loveless (see lots of photos below too)

Debby and I were honored to be part of a mission trip to Galeana, NL, Mexico with True Path Ministry, missionaries Stephen and Tonyia Williams. Monday 12-26-22 we traveled from Medina, TX to Galeana, Mexico. We were there from Tuesday, Dec. 27th to Sunday Jan 1st.  It was an intense but blessed week of ministry.

Each morning we began with prayer then headed out to a different ranch-village high in the mountains. It would usually take about two hours to get there, on a one lane dirt road traveling about 10 miles per hour or less. Occasionally we would stop for goats and donkeys crossing the road.

Once we arrived at our destination, we would have Church. These Church’s either met outside under an awning or in a small building that you could see daylight through the walls. Most had electricity of some sort but never A/C or heat.

I was truly blessed by this because they set their schedule around the missionaries and were grateful we came to see them. I was very humbled because a lot of the people either walked or rode a donkey more than an hour to get to service. They were very happy to be there to hear what the Lord had to say.

We love kids, so, Debby and I were right in our element. A children’s service was conducted while the adults had their service. The kids prayed, sang songs, heard a Bible lesson and ended with a craft. Once all services were finished, each boy was given a backpack with school supplies, a soccer ball and a bag of candy. The soccer balls were deflated inside the backpack and needed to be aired up, which we did once each boy received their gift. All the girls received a backpack, with school supplies, a girl gift and a bag of candy. These kids showed big smiles as they were so grateful for what they received. Every backpack included a Christian tract which explained the Road to Salvation. The Pastor and wives at each village were given “a blessing bag” which was filled with food and essential items to help them in their daily lives.

I witnessed Pastor Rey, from the Galeana Church, give one of the village Pastor’s an air pump, used to air up bicycle tires, and the village paster started crying. These people not once complained about their conditions or how difficult their life could be but always praised God for what he is doing and has done. We were here to bless these villages but we were very blessed in return.

They are very giving people and the village Pastor’s family always fed us lunch. It was common for the meals to be cooked, in their kitchen, over a concrete fire pit that is covered with metal. Most meals included tortillas, made from corn they grew, and ground into flour using a hand grinder. It was like stepping back in time.

I learned that many times in this ministry, God will change our plans if we allow him. One example, we were on our way back from Santa Rosa, high in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere. We had just came around a sharp curve and three people were walking on the road. Tonyia said “Hey stop we have to help them.” She asked them where they were going and they said Galeana (15 or more miles away). It was 80 degrees, they had been walking awhile and were obviously hot and tired. We were still over an hour out on this one lane remote dirt road.

Traveling with us were three vehicles, so we moved people around and made room for them in the ministry van. We also gave them water and a sandwich. They were on their way to visit a sick friend. Thank you Lord for allowing us to be your hands and feet for these people in need.

Another blessing was meeting and traveling all week with Mexico evangelist Ramiro. He is an awesome man of God and when he preaches, God shows up. I also learned that it doesn’t matter what language we speak, whether English or Spanish, when the Holy Spirit shows up we are all the same body of Christ.

Thank you True Path Ministry for allowing us the opportunity to share God’s love in Mexico. We gave of ourselves, but also was very blessed in return by the love of Jesus from the people.

“The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”. Matthew 25:40
