Tonyia and Stephen Williams have bee called to work as Christian Missionaries in Mexico. This is the ongoing story about our adventures.

Always Tell the Truth

The Marcos 10:14 Kids Club in Galeana, NL, Mexico taught the importance of telling the truth as a Christian. The meeting on April 4th used an Old Testament story to reinforce a New Testament verse.

Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,  but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected… 1 John 2:4-5. This was the memory verse for the week.

Part of the lesson was the Old Testament story of a king who would not listen to the truth from God’s prophet Micaiah, but instead listened to
lying spirits from the prophets who spoke the words he wanted to hear. The story is told in 2 Chronicles 18.

The word search puzzle each child completed also reminded them of the memory verse. Prayer, songs, games and a meal is always part of the weekly club meeting. Christ is at the center of all activities.

Blessed Are the Pure in Heart

During the last few weeks the Marcos 10:14 Kids Club has taught the children in Galeana, NL, Mexico some important lessons about our Christian faith. At the same time the kids have enjoyed craft projects, games, songs, prayers and a meal at the weekly meetings.

Bible study is a central focus of the meetings. At each gathering there is a memory verse such as: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God,” (Matthew 5:8); and “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand,” (Isaiah 41:10). Many of the children repeat the week’s memory verse and are rewarded with candy.

It is rewarding and humbling to watch the children grow in their faith. Thanks to the Galeana adult volunteers who give their time each week and thank you donors and pray warriors. To Jesus goes the glory, he is the reason and purpose behind everything.

Donated Van for Ministry

A couple, Travis and Heidi Klaassen, walked up to Stephen and Tonyia after a church service and asked if we wanted a 15 passenger van for our Mexico ministry. They did not know we needed one, but they felt the Holy Spirit’s prompting. Our response, “YES! It is just what we have been praying for….” We need a better people carrying vehicle. The Suburban we use was not really designed for the way we use it. We have to transport Kid’s to club each week (often twenty at a time). Plus, we drive people to church, take groups on Saturdays to worship in remote villages and take youth to special events in other towns.

Tonyia and I (Stephen) are always blown away by how the Lord provides for his ministry needs. On Sunday we were in worship services at the Medina, Texas Methodist Church. My brother Arlen and sister in-law Linda are members there and introduced us during the service. The Church is also one of our supporters.

Travis and Heidi were at the service too. They had the 1997 Ford 350 van for some time. It was originally bought for another ministry, but was no longer needed. They were trying to decide what to do with it and on Sunday that question was answered.

We, at True Path Ministry, are humbled and grateful to be a part of what God is doing! A big THANK YOU to the Klaassen’s for following the Holy Spirit’s prompting and donating the van – God bless y’all in a mighty way.

Complete in Christ

The Marcos 10:14 club learned we are to submit our desires to the will of God. The craft reinforced the fact Christ sees us as important, loved, valuable and complete in His grace. We also celebrated teacher Ana’s birthday with a song, hugs and a cake.

Some of these children come from difficult situations, but at club they are loved and respected as God’s own kids.

It was another good club meeting. It is an honor to work for the kingdom of God!

Church Update: Windows

Ten new large windows for the Getsemani Church arrived Monday, February 25th and nine were installed on February 26th. Pastors Reynaldo and Lulu and the congregation are so grateful to the Lord, but also to those who responded to his Spirit with donations.

The remaining eight small windows are set to arrive Monday and the large front door later next week. We expect they will be installed next week too.

These windows are locally made and there are several places in Galeana that make them. We are using a shop that is fairly new and the owner is young, but they gave us a good price and excellent quality.

In addition to the windows, work is proceeding to fill in the gap that was between the roof and the top of the walls. That should be finished tomorrow.

Tonyia and I can feel the excitement from the congregation as they see continued progress in their new place of worship. Thank you everyone who prays for us and support us in other ways. We are humbled to be a tool to further God’s kingdom here. Praise Jesus.
