Reconstructing the Canoas Church Building
We are asking for financial support and prayers as we rebuild the small church in Canoas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. There may be turmoil in this world, but God has a plan and we are thankful to be ambassadors for Jesus! God has willing workers ready to build His church, but we need your help.
The new building will be on the same site. We plan to reuse as many materials as possible from the previous structure. The structure will be built with concrete blocks and will likely use the same sheet-metal roof. It will measure 10 meters by 6 meters (approximately 33’ x 20’), providing about 660 square feet of space for worship.
Canoas Pastor Alfredo and Galeana Pastor Reynaldo of Centro Cristiano Getsemaní will oversee the project.
For more than ten years, True Path Ministry Inc. and the church in Galeana have faithfully taken the gospel to this remote mountain village. Canoas has a small but devoted congregation. During our most recent visit, we discovered that the church building was leaning and in need of serious repair. After a closer inspection, we found that many of the rough-cut, untreated shiplap boards—part of the structure’s support—had rotted. The floor supports were also failing, putting the building in danger of collapse. For safety reasons, the structure has now been taken down.
Canoas is a special place to us. Pastor Alfredo and his congregation have always welcomed us with open hearts. No other Christian missionary organization regularly visit this church. The people are humble and faithful, and we have witnessed Christ change lives.
The previous church building has been removed from the site, and a concrete pad has been poured. We now need financial assistance of approximately $3000 USD to get the church fully constructed. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)
