La Presita Almost Two Years Later

True Path Ministry and Centro Cristiano Getsemani teamed up and returned to La Presita on Saturday, March 29th after an almost two-year delay. We were overjoyed to find a full church of sincere worshipers and a large group of enthusiastic Christian kids.

Can God trust us? It was the question on the minds of the new pastor and his wife almost two years ago when we visited La Presita. Eli’s father, the Pastor for many years at La Presita, had just died leaving Eli and wife Lucera with the church. Both of our visits brought them tremendous support and encouragement. Their faith had prevailed to answer, YES, to God’s call.

The mission group arrived in the small desert village after a two-hour drive from our base in Galeana, NL. For our visit we kicked off the visit with a special song service lead by Pastor Lourdes followed by inspired preaching by Pastor Reynaldo for the adults. He preached from Matthew 25:1-13 about the Ten Bridesmaids. Be ready for the Lord always.

After the powerful sermon the alter filled with people on their knees before God in an intense time of prayer.

During the sermon the children went to a barn area and were lead by teacher Ana and Perla from the Galeana church. There was a time of prayer, song, Bible teaching and a craft project. We ended our visit by giving a backpack filled with school supplies and a fun surprise for each child. Plus, we gave blankets and hats to the adults.

Seeing the faith of these people is so inspiring. It is a farming community facing an extended period of drought. The ponds are dried up and there is little grass, but their faith is strong.

TPM missionaries Stephen and Tonyia Williams were especially happy to include Will, Debby and Hope Loveless from Texas. It was a joy filled time of Christian fellowship and worship for all of us.
