Church Building Begins in Purisima
Saturday May 25, 2024 – True Path Ministry (Steve and Tonyia Williams), Will and Debby Loveless from Texas and many members of Centro Cristiana Getsemani Church of Galeana NL traveled to Purisima, a small mountain village. Though it is only about 37 miles one way, it takes almost 2 hours to get there on the challenging mountain roads.
We are blessed and humbled to be used by God in such a mighty way in Mexico. Pastor Rebeca, of Iglesia Dios est Aqui, in Purisima, is dedicated and excited to continue serving Jesus in this community. She has services under the tent that TPM donated, but several months ago a violent wind came, blew the tent, and tore most of the canvas.
They have managed to piece back together the canvas so they can still have this area to meet, but it leaks and is barely put together. Under this tent is where she has several services each week for the church and children.
So, to be able to announce that construction has begun for a new church building here in Purisima is exciting! Materials are brought in from another town about an hour and ½ away. We are believing God totally for the completion of this church and we are thankful our God provides!
While we were in Purisima, the children had a service. Teacher Ana instructed the children on 1 Peter 3:12: For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
The children sang songs, played games, had Bible study, and completed a craft right before it began to rain. We were grateful for the rain, when we arrived in Purisima it was 102 degrees, very unusual for this mountain town. Once the rain came, the temperatures dropped tremendously.
Rebeca’s family fed us a great meal. We were able to meet the boss of the construction project, Rebeca’s cousin, Juan. He is a Christian and knowledgeable, over ten years’ experience in the construction trade.
We saw where the workers had begun digging the holes for the concrete and had placed the rebar columns. Once a layer of concrete is placed around the perimeter, a layer of cinder blocks is placed then another smooth layer of concrete. The walls will then be the next phase.
Before leaving, we prayed for the church, anointed Rebeca and Juan with oil and asked for God’s protection, guidance, provision, and wisdom as the project moves forward, in Jesus’ name!
Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support! God is good!!
2 Chronicles 6:20 May your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, this place of which you said you would put your Name there. May you hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place.
